Team Kenya work in partnership with a Kenyan NGO, to educate and empower vulnerable girls and women. Through our work we are supporting and enabling positive transformational change for economically poor and marginalised communities in Ndhiwa, rural Western Kenya.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My visit to Ndhiwa, Kenya in October 2011 was, without wanting to sound cheesy, a life changing experience. I met some of the most friendly, generous and warm people ever even though they had so little to give. If they can be generous then we really have NO excuse.

Team Kenya makes sure that every penny you donate goes exactly where it should, not spent on UK wages and TV adverts!

Just £1 buys a pack of Padi Bora (reuseable sanitary towels) that lasts a year giving women and girls the freedom to do whatever they need to regardless of what day of the month it is, something I know we take for granted.

£5 buys a school desk. Even the classrooms that have the luxury of concrete floors are often terribly under funished. Children (some as old as 18) are fitting 3 or 4 to a desk that is designed for 2. These children already have so many barriers to learning without the practicalities of somewhere to sit being one of them.

Both myself and the people of Ndhiwa are so greatful of any amount you can donate.

If you would like to know anymore information please look at the www.teamkenya.org.uk or speak to me.

Thanks again :-)
