Story

For 200 years the Theatre Royal has inspired performers and audiences young and old. Conservatoire EAST have a special relationship with the theatre as their shows and projects continue to be an inspiration to young people in the community. A large number of Conservatoire EAST students have performed and worked at the Theatre Royal and it continues to provide a connection to our students and the business they aspire to be a part of.

Reopening a theatre is not straightforward and they need time and money to programme and promote the season and their income cannot simply leap back to where is was before the crisis. Their campaign target is to raise £50,000 to allow them to begin preparations to re-open this playhouse beloved by Conservatoire EAST and the wider community.

Therefore, the students at Conservatoire EAST have decided to put together a night of entertainment online to raise funds for the Theatre Royal which we are calling 'A Royal Night In'. This will be a revue show of song, dance and speech entirely created and broadcast by current Conservatoire EAST students from their homes.

The event has been masterminded by Conservatoire EAST student Oliver Brown who also works as a casual technician for the Theatre Royal.
