Nystagmus means involuntary movements of the eye. It impairs vision, affecting focus and depth perception. At least 1 in 1,000 babies are born with nystagmus. There is currently no cure. The Nystagmus Network is a UK registered charity which provides support, raises awareness and funds research.

Story

<p>On May 27 2012 we (Ash Merritt, Charlotte Merritt &amp; James Jarrett) will be running the London BUPA 10,000 in aid of Nystagmus Network.</p> <p>Nystagmus Network (NN) is a UK charity and support group run by and for individuals and families affected by Nystagmus.<br><br>Nystagmus is an involuntary movement of the eyes which often seriously reduces vision. Few people with Nystagmus can drive and most encounter some difficulties in everyday life, education and employment.&nbsp; Many people with Nystagmus are registered Partially Sighted, or even Blind.<br><br>Anyone can get Nystagmus. Every year hundreds of children are born with Nystagmus and hundreds of adults develop (acquire) Nystagmus due to accidents or illnesses such as stroke or multiple sclerosis.<br><br>The work and efforts of NN are vital: their aim is to improve the lives of people with Nystagmus and promote research.&nbsp; NN works with medical and education bodies and professionals alike to promote understanding and awareness of this condition.</p> <p>So please, do give all and anything you can spare to this wonderful and worthy charity.</p>
