Action for Children - Byte Night London 2011 · 7 October 2011 ·
On no doubt a cold and wet 7th of October Ray Han, Jessie Pitts, Matt Pound, Sarah Watson and Dave West will be sleeping rough on the banks of the Thames in order to raise money for Action for Children.
Action for Children works to tackle the root causes of homelessness, keeping vulnerable young people off the streets and enabling them to build better lives with access to education and training opportunities.
As one of the UK's largest children's charities, they work with nearly 156,000 children, young people and their families at 420 projects across the UK. At least 75,000 children and young people experience homelessness each year and of those, 1 in 3 will attempt suicide and 1 in 7 will be physically or sexually assaulted.
All the money we raise will support their vital work tackling the root causes of youth homelessness and will help them support thousands of vulnerable young people right across the UK.
Action for Children’s youth projects provide a wide range of support services to help young people avoid homelessness. These include emergency and homelessness support, supported lodgings for those leaving the care system and housing education programmes. Their projects deal with the issues that can lead to homelessness and help to change lives with vital independence skills, training opportunities and access to employment.
