Hi All,
Thank you for visiting our group fundraising page!
The Borsay siblings have decided to coordinate a Guildford to London group bike ride on Saturday 1st October in honour of our Dad- Anthony John Borsay AJB.
We thought a group bike-ride would be a perfect opportunity for us all to come together and have a fun day out, with the added bonus of raising money for charity.
So to the bike-ride…….
We will be starting in the centre of Guildford, riding through Weybridge, passing Hampton Court, through Richmond Park and into London. We will be following the Thames and the Wey rivers all the way into London. It is around 40 miles and we plan for it to take the best part of a day.
There are around 20 of our friends joining us and taking part in this challenge!

As many of you know our Dad spent the majority of his stay in hospital in the St Thomas’s ICU which accounted for around 7 months of his life. This meant that we spent our lives there. Throughout this time we got to see how truly incredible the intensive care nurses are, and what a hugely impressive and overlooked job they do. These were the people that kept our Dad alive and helped him get back up after each problem he was faced with. The whole unit was a place that we called home for many months, and with the support and compassion that the team showed and the excellence in care, it really made our whole family’s stay bearable. The intensive care unit is one of the most expensive departments to keep running day to day, and is one that cares for all ages, and illnesses. It is a place where most people only stay for a short period and move on to a normal ward once they are no longer in a critical condition. Sadly others stay for a long stint- like us. We therefore feel very strongly for this particular intensive care unit and want to show our appreciation by raising money and showing our support for this important department.
