Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be taking part in the Great North Swim in Lake Windermere on Saturday 14 June to raise funds for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

In November 2013 James Campbell tragically became one of the 12 young people who die suddenly in the UK every week from undiagnosed heart conditions. I knew James as a student for many years and would like to make a contribution to his memorial fund.

**Update** I was in the first 1-mile wave at 9.30am. After acclimatisation and a quick warm-up, I set off with 300 other swimmers in the chilly waters! I finished with a time of 41 minutes, which I was pretty pleased with. It was a privilege to swim for CRY in James' memory.

Many thanks once again for your support -everyone's encouragement really spurred me on!
