On Saturday 19th June, members of ASG (along with friends from the technology offices) will be attempting to traverse the Helvellyn range of mountains in the Lake District with the aim of climbing 15 peaks which are all higher than 2000ft.

This challenging walk starts at the northern point of the range and finishes at Rydal Water in the south. Some of the peaks we'll be climbing on the way include Helvellyn (3081ft) , Fairfield (2874ft) , Lower Man (2995ft) and Great Dodd (2795ft).

In total, the walkers will climb 5,777 feet (over 11 times taller than the Barclays HQ at 1CP) and cover 16.7 miles, all within 13.5 hours.

We will be walking in support of Community Action Nepal (CAN) a charity established by Doug Scott CBE to support development in Nepal, a country in desperate need of aid as it builds sustainable infrastructure, education and medical facilities.

For further information in the work that CAN does please visit their website at http://www.canepal.org.uk/

The team consists of: Ian Roberts; Mark Dodgson; Mark Davenport; Vicky Poulson; Steve Gatenby; Dave Pearson; Royd Whittington; Russ Hendley; Ian Bagley; Lesley Cooper; John Fraser; Simon Kirkham; Alan Booth; Dave West; Debbie Ogden; and Ainsley Armstrong, and we would all welcome any support you can give us.
