In November 2009, as part of a trip we organised for the opening of Carter House on the West Bank in Luxor, we were taken to see the Little Stars charity in action. This amazing charity helps to support 250 desperately poor families - mostly women and children - who have nothing. Really nothing. Many sleep on mud floors, have nothing to eat and absolutely no income. Many are 100% reliant on charitable giving.

Little Stars provides medical support, food, clothing and education to these families - and, perhaps above all, hope.

AWT passengers are encouraged to support this wonderful charity. This is a side of Luxor that tourists don't see - a side of Luxor that is very real and desperately hard for those who really are at the bottom of the heap. By giving - even the smallest donation - we are helping to make life a bit better for those who have nothing. We're also letting them know that they are not alone and that somebody cares.
