Please join us in celebrating Aaron's 10th transplant anniversary and remembering his donor by making a small donation toward the Donor Family Network's Appeal
On the night of May 29th 2000, we got "the call" for Aaron's Gift of Life, another family had just said goodbye to their son for the very last time, shortly afterwards we were saying our goodbyes as Aaron entered theatre for his transplant surgery. On the 30th May we said "hello" to a transformed child with a chance of life he never had...thanks to his amazing donor and his amazing donor family.

We just don't feel comfortable celebrating when his donor family lost their child.. but we didn't want to let it pass without some kind of recognition not just for Aaron having fought so hard to make it here but more for his donor and his family afterall if it wasn't for them Aaron would not be here at all enjoying his life
The Donor Family Network is holding a £250,000 fundraising appeal to create the Gift of Life Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire along with other regional memorials across the country(Including Scotland)
The Donor Family Network stongly believes that a memorial to organ donors should be funded by the people - those who's lives organ and tissue donation has touched and those who support transplantation.Recognition - where the precious gift of life is recognised as an altruistic, life affirming, life changing act of kindness and generosity.
Thank you is such a small thing but means so much to families who have lost a loved one but found the courage to give the Gift of Life.
Reflection - a place of quiet and natural beauty for reflection and contemplation particularly those whose lives have been touched by organ donation, especially those people for whom the call never came, those who died waiting for a transplant because of the tragic shortage of organs available.
Remembrance - where all are remembered and they are remembered by all. Those who wished to be donors but whose wishes could not be fulfilled are also remembered with gratitude.
Further details of these beautiful memorials can be found here
