The VCMF is a fund I set up in memory of my dear mum who left a huge hole in all our lives on December 8th 2008 when she lost her short battle with cancer aged just 50. This page is to keep her memory alive whilst supporting others.

Hello everyone,

And thanks for visiting my Justgiving page. On Saturday July 2nd this year I will be taking part in the London to Cambridge 100km challenge which will see me walk for over 24 hours through the night from East London up to Cambridge. Put simply, one of the toughest challenges I could ever take on.

After supporting my good friend Luke Claxton with his fundraising efforts over the past few years which have seen him and his great team of supporters raise in excess of £165,000 I wanted to join the team and do my own thing and contribute to their efforts and support the Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund as they seek to raise a Quarter of a million pounds via their team fundraising page www.justgiving.com/teams/target250k , in little over 18 months the team has already raised over £85,000.

And now I'd like to help some more by taking on this huge task so please get behind me and spare anything you can to support Children and young people living with the daily struggles cancer brings.

Thanks very much for your time,

Aaron Francis

CLIC Sargent’s mission is to change what it means to be diagnosed with cancer when you’re young. We believe that children and young people with cancer have the right to the best possible treatment, care, and support, throughout their cancer journey and beyond. And they deserve the best possible chance to make the most of their lives once cancer treatment has ended.

CLIC Sargent provides vital emotional, practical and financial support to young cancer patients and families during and after treatment, and we take what they tell us about the impact of cancer on their lives to service providers and policy makers to help change things for the better.
