Abbas's Mt. Snowdon Climb

Abbas' Mt. Snowdon Climb · 25 October 2014
Imagine for one moment that you are a Palestinian. Every hour, minute, and second you live is precious. You cannot go to school for fear that it will be bombarded by tank shells. You cannot even go to the local grocery store to purchase bread for fear that you may find yourself in the midst of a missile strike.
All the people you grew up to love are either dying or dead. And amongst all this, if anything were to happen, the hospitals are so over-crowded it's most likely you wouldn't survive even the smallest of injuries.
All these lives lost that could have been saved, if only there was access to basic healthcare. We have the luxury of an a comprehensive care system, but in Palestine even the most simple of injures can become life threatening due to the lack of available hospitals.
This is not an appeal regarding the actions of Israel, this is an appeal to humanity.
It is for this very reason that I have decided to undertake the challenge of climbing Mt. Snowdon with the intention of raising funds for an ICU in Gaza. As a matter of humanity, I ask you to donate - no matter how small the donation is, I can assure you it will make a difference.I would like to end with the words of Nelson Mandela:
"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity."
