British Scoliosis Research Foundation is the only charity that exists solely to promote research into the treatment of spinal deformities. The BSRF works closely with the Scoliosis Association UK and the British Scoliosis Society. It funds research into scoliosis and holds an international symposium to spread the knowledge gained from research.

Story

In March 2004, I was diagnosed with scoliosis, a curavature of the spine, and had corrective surgery on 23rd August 2005. On September 6th 2009, I will be running 5K (for the first time in about 9 years!) in London's Hyde park, for the British Scoliosis Research Foundation, and would love it if you could sponser me, or feel free to support me from the sidelines!

The British Scoliosis Research Foundation is a very valuable charity, enabling the promotion of research into the treatment of scoliosis. Through your support, the BSRF hopes to stimulate research into:

  • The causation of, prevention of, and potential cures for idiopathic scoliosis
  • The assessment of new forms of treatment – surgical and otherwise
  • The encouragement of basic scientific research that might add to knowledge of the changes, causal or otherwise, in idiopathic scoliosis
  • The support of research by young surgeons to stimulate an interest in scoliosis in newly qualified doctors.
