Story

Prostate Cancer is the second most  common cancer in the UK.

Myself and Kelsey Mead are taking part in a 30 mile walk, from the Principality Stadium Cardiff to Kenfig Hill RFC in memory of my loving grandfather.

Prostate Cymru are a voluntary group dedicated to fighting Prostate Cancer, Procuring equipment and raising awareness here in the Welsh Principality. Annually throughout the UK men’s prostate cancer claims 11,000 lives, with up to 32,000 new cases diagnosed. They are rare in men under 50, but the condition becomes more pronounced and common with age. Help us fight this deadly disease which is the second common cancer in the UK. Help us make a difference.

Cancer will touch most people's lives at some point. Unfortunately some journeys end more sadly than others. In 2006 my grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer and it changed all our lives in an instant. Sadly my grampy lost his battle in 2010 but his journey would have ended much sooner had he not been diagnosed so quickly. His case was complicated by also having kidney cancer which spread to his lungs before he lost his hard fought battle. Everyone who knew my grandfather knew he was a strong and a inspirational man and everyone who knows me knows that when he passed away my left eyebrow turned white from shock and stress of his passing. This is quite a rare thing as a white streak usually occurs in the hair, but since the day he passed I have to dye my eyebrows to hide the whiteness.

Donate what you can, every bit makes a difference.
