Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year I decided to take up running for the very first time and to challenge myself to running a half marathon. I love running but I am not the fastest runner, just slow and steady. I also decided to raise money for Taylan's Project (www.taylansproject.com).

For those of you who don't know, my friends Andy and Figen's son Taylan was diagnosed with a rare form of an inoperable brain tumour at the age of just 7 years old in 2008. Sadly in August 2009, Taylan lost his brave battle against his illness.

Brain tumours cut lives short of more children and people under the age of 40 in the UK than any other cancer and survival rates are shockingly low.

Andy and Figen are truly remarkable people in their fundraising efforts and tiresome work; this is just my way of helping them in their quests.

Any donations small or large are much appreciated and will help to raise vital funds.

Thank you for taking the time to donate and visit my page. I will try my best to run a good half marathon. I am hoping to complete in under 3 hours, although I realise some people can complete a full marathon in that time!

I would really would like to get a PB of 2.5 hours. If I have to crawl across the finish line I will! I am training 4-5 days a week and having huge encouragement from my loving family especially my husband without whose wonderful support I would not be able to compete. I am also training on Saturday mornings with Jonnie Walton, personal trainer to the stars :), who is also going to run with me and keeps me going on my long runs!

Thank you once again for visiting.
