On January 27th I will be taking part in a 3 peaks challenge with a difference - I will be climbing three volcanoes in Guatemala two of which are active!! The smallest is over 2500m and the highest is 4000m high. This challenging trek will be made even more difficult as not only will I be carrying everything I need for three days trekking including tent etc. but will also have to combat the effects of altitude.
The charity I am raising money for is called Education For The Children and will go towards the running of a school in Guatemala. In Guatemala people have to pay for education therefore those who live in poverty have no way of gaining the skills they need to find work and improve their lives. Education For the Children exists to help some of the poorest children in Central America get off the streets and into the classroom, providing a positive alternative to a life of begging.
I know that times are hard for everyone at the moment but if you could just spare a small amount it could add up to make a big difference.
