Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Pax and Catherine are my two precious children.
Pax was born with a genetic blood condition and he sadly only lived for 3 1/2 years. He was a gentle little boy, and loved pushing his little sister around in her stroller. Born 3rd January 1979, died in Bhopal, India on 27 May 1980.
Catherine was my second child. She was a beautiful and smart young woman, kind and generous with a great sense of humour. She died following a long struggle with mental illness. Born 19 June 1980. Died 13 April 2011 in Dudley, England.
I have no surviving children, and my own survival was in doubt following my losses. Somehow though I have found my feet again. It's a long story which you can read about on my blog www.avalleyjournal.co.uk . I am now privileged to help others with their own journeys through loss.
I've started doing this charity walk each year around 19-21 June as those are the dates of my daughter's birthday and my own. The 61 km has to do with my age (!) and it's km not miles as I am not as fit as I would like to be, not too surprising since kidney cancer in 2015.
I nominate Samaritans because they are always there to listen, no matter who you are or what you need to say. They are non-judgmental. When your thoughts are racing or your heart is breaking, they will listen.
Thanks for reading thus and I hope you will sponsor me. The walk will take place over several days around 18-22 June in the Trossachs of Scotland.
