Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page- its not too late to donate (that rhymes!).

At the end of September I'm going to Ethiopia with Vision Aid Overseas for 2 weeks with 6 other opticians.  We'll be testing hundreds of people's eyes in rural areas where there is no access to eyecare or glasses.  We'll also be trainning nurses to test eyes so they can carry on when we've gone. 

On Sunday the 20th September I wore a really high prescription* so I was effectivly almost blind.  I wasn't able to drive, text, recognise people, cook....it will gave me a taste of what its like to be dependant on other people just because I can't get glasses.  It was really a challenge for the whole day!  It was a struggle to fully engage with people around me and frustrating that I couldn't help wash up!

* +19.00 lentics for those of you in the know.  If you're worried I'll damge my eyes I promise to take a blind fold to wear instead on my adventures if I start getting a head ache :o)  I did wear the blind fold quite a bit in the end which made me feel a bit spaced out and dozy!
