On 16th June 2011 Cpl Lloyd Newell was fatally wounded by small arms fire, whilst on operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Lloyd is my mate Karl's little brother and in tribute to him, Karl, myself and others are going to train for and take part in, the Para's 10 challenge.  This is no ordinary run, it's 10 miles, cross country with boots, trousers and loaded back-packs.  1h50m is the time to beat (the Paratroopers Company Selection cut-off time - http://www.paras10.com/pcoy-challenge.php).  Bring it on!
