Coast to Coast · 2 June 2012

Chuf's mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or who develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families. Chuf supports children who receive treatment at Freeman Hospital and many other hospitals throughout the North of England.

Story

Over the past few years, we, at Bombardier Central Rivers, have built a tradition of organising charity events to raise money for charities close to our hearts.

In 2010, we organised an open day at Central Rivers. We asked for your contribution and received a fantastic response. We had a great day and, as a result, raised just over £6,000 for the Macmillan ward in Derby.

In 2012, we are organising a Coast to Coast cycling event on the 2 and 3 June 2012. The “Sea to Sea Voyagers “CHUF-fing all the way” challenge will take us from Whiteheaven to Tynemouth: a total of 140 miles over 2 days.

Please see the following website for more information: http://www.c2c-guide.co.uk/the-route/).

This time, we will be raising money for CHUF (Children’s Heart Unit Fund) at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle (http://www.chuf.org.uk). One of our colleagues, Pete Smith, who is taking part in the event, has been receiving an outstanding support from this hospital.

We are a group of about 15 persons taking part in the cycling event (including support and marshalling).

We are looking for your sponsorship to help cover the costs and help us to raise as much money as we can for a truly worthy cause.
