In February, Lawrence Dallaglio, alongside a bunch of celebrity mates and about 200 others will be cycling to all of the 6 Nations stadia starting in Rome then onto Paris, Twickenham, Cardiff, Dublin and finishing in Edinburgh on 13th March. The target is to raise £1 million for charity. Lawrence will be spending 24 days in the saddle and over 2,800 kilometres in the middle of winter. This is all about raising money for Sport Relief and the newly formed Dallaglio Foundation.
I have decided to join Lawrence on stage 1 of his challenge - cycling 679 km in 5 days from Rome to Nice. Every so often I have the compulsion to hurt myself quite badly - it is some sort of inadequacy thing. Anyway, I hope I will be able to help Lawrence raise his £1 million target and this is, of course, where you come in. Sorry to come scrounging yet again, but I would like you to get your hand in your pocket. To encourage you to donate generously, my pledge to you is that I will personally match your donation pound-for-pound, so the ride is not only going to hurt my perineum, but my wallet as well!
Many thanks,
Adam
