Story

12th June - 4th July

3 weeks, a bike, tent, 1400-miles and a lot of vaseline!!!

Given the state of the current economy, and that my parents have yet again left these shores for the Algarve, Portugal, i thought it would be a good idea to catch the Eurostar across to Paris, then save some money and ride 500 miles across France, meet up with a fellow idiot (Mr Mike Wild) to ride a further 600 miles across the Spanish-Portugal border, and then finish with a quick 300 miles to Albufeira in the Algarve. Simple!!!

To justify such a stupid thing to do, using up most of my summer holiday (sorry Chantal), I thought it would be a good thing to see what supportive and generous friends and family I have and raise some money for charity. The following charity was suggested by my friend, and boss, Sheridan. It is a lesser known charity, and therefore is always grateful for any donations or publicity. I agreed to support the charity for various reasons; 1, being that it is an unknown charity; 2, it really is aimed at those who cannot help themselves due to hardship; and 3, it has the potential to change a child’s life. So please, I know we are always being asked for money for various charities, but I’m asking now, and even if it's just a pound, it all counts.

Thank you.
