3 Peaks Challenge · 4 July 2015

We are a volunteer charity supporting world-leading prostate cancer research at University of Surrey and first class treatment at the NHS Stokes Centre for Urology at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. We provide support to sufferers & promote awareness for men aged 50+ to get a PSA blood test.

Story

Prostate cancer kills 11,000 men each year in the UK. At McFT we are working with the Prostate Project to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer, the risk of which increases significantly after the milestone birthday of 50.

The key message is 'get yourself checked', as early diagnosis dramatically improves chance of survival

10 of us (+ our 2 great drivers) are challenging ourselves to complete the 26 mile of climbing and falling in 3 countries over 24 hrs.

All 3 mountains are over 3000ft and following our ‘practice’ in the Brecon Beacons we now know what we have let ourselves in for!

1.       Ben Nevis – 4409ft - Scotland

2.       Scarfell Pike – 3,209ft - England

3.       Snowdon – 3,560ft - Wales

As a team we have set ourselves the challenge of raising as much money as possible.
