Story

WELCOME

Team True Spirit are a team of athletes that comprise of injured servicemen with a support team of rehabilitation physio's, civilians and volunteers who have decided to make a difference.

The servicemen, who have received life changing injuries whilst serving their country, are now completing their rehabilitation. To help them recover and as part of their rehabilitation programme they have joined Team True Spirit and will be taking part in the events during 2012.

The aims of Team True Spirit are to raise awareness of the new battles these servicemen now face and to generate financial support to help them and those close to them.

Team True Spirit allow these injured servicemen the chance to do amazing things and to prove they can bounce back.

The team was formed in 2011 and the culmination of our years was the completion of the 2011 Ironman UK Triathlon, held around the rugged terrain of the North West of England.

The pictures HERE highlight what we achieved on that memorable summers day when we achieved our first Ironman finish.

By completing various endurance races and events, the team  hope to inspire others to believe that anything is possible.

In this, the Olympic year, we want to take our fundraising to a new level and have set out double our efforts from 2011 and to raise £20,000.

About the charity

The RMBF was formed to relieve need, distress or hardship suffered by any person who is serving, has served or is a dependant of a Royal Marine, irrespective of rank. It also provides immediately on the death of either a serving RM or a reservist on duty a sum of money for the next of kin to help them cope with any pressing financial matters.
