Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Analysis of the latest official figures showed that in 2016 more than a quarter of a million people are homeless in England - a 16% increase compared to the previous year, and more than double the amount in 2010. (Source Shelter)

Last year 59,090 households were accepted as homeless in England. In Scotland, 28,247 applications were assessed as homeless and in Wales 7,128 households were threatened with homelessness.

People sleeping on the street are almost 17 times more likely to have been victims of violence. More than one in three people sleeping rough have been deliberately hit or kicked or experienced some other form of violence whilst homeless.

On average, homeless people die at just 47 years old. Homeless people are over nine times more likely to take their own life than the general population. (Source: CRISIS)

This is why I will be cycling from London to Brighton to raise funds for the activities that Who is Hussain? London (registered via The World Federation of KSIMC) are regularly carrying out, mainly helping the homeless and needy via food drives, CV workshops and support schemes. With your hard work and efforts, we will be able to build on this, improve the services we provide and hopefully even look at potential solutions for mobile showers and shelters.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and any donation you can make to help Britain's homeless will be greatly appreciated.
