Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi, I'm Adam.

I am extremely lucky enough to have been selected to cycle 440km through Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama in February 2015.  This is being made possible through the company 'Discover Adventure' who will be organising and accompanying me and 23 other pupils from my school, George Spencer Academy in Nottingham.  I will also experience climbing one of the two volcanos on the Onetepe Islands, along with being able to see the Suez Canal.  This, as you can appreciate, is one almighty task for a 16 year old of my stature!

This is no easy way to fund raise, I can tell you!  I will be put through a series of Fitness Tests, Vaccinations and various cycle rides through the UK during 2014.  These involve the Great Nottingham Bike Ride on Saturday 22nd June, a distance of 50 miles. The national Coast to Coast route, 140 miles crossing northern England from Whitehaven, Cumbria to Sunderland, Tyne & Wear over 4 days beginning Saturday 25th October and at Christmas 2014, the equivalent of John O'Groats to Lands End done locally with my team which is a whopping 969 miles!

As well as raising funds for my chosen charity, I am, myself, having to raise the money for the majority of this trip which is a huge £3000!  My chosen charity BLESMA, British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association is a charity for disable servicemen women, their dependants and widows. It provides assistance to thousands, ranging from veterans of World War II right up to current conflicts.  You can find out more at: http://www.blesma.org
