A big thanks to all those who sponsored me last year in my first Marathon attempt in Edinburgh, it was possibily the worst and best feeling all in one day! Hopefully the Weather will not be as hot this year as that heatwave that passed through Scotland.

I have had a great Christmas present of a call from Myeloma UK to say they now have a place at the London marathon so I had no hestitation in saying yes.

What is myeloma?

Myeloma, also known as multiple myeloma, is a type of bone marrow cancer arising from plasma cells, which are normally found in the bone marrow. Plasma cells form part of your immune system. After Kats (my wife) Dad was diagnosed with myeloma 5 years ago we have tried to raise the profile of the charity which helps and supports families who have to deal with the cancer.  Myeloma Uk provide information and support to people affected by myeloma and to improve standards of treatment and care through research, education, campaigning, and raising awareness.

Now that the Christmas pud is gone it is time to get in shape and some serious training to be done and without my running bud Joe this time its going to be hard. I've got my Wii fit telling me i'm 40 and overweight so its going to be no pain no gain.
