Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 8th May at 10am, I will be abseiling down the side of the Travel Lodge at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. I am doing this to raise money for SoLO.
So
please put your hands in your pockets and help a worth while charity.
Small and large donations welcome.
Not heard of SoLO?
SoLO enables children, young people and adults with learning disabilities to enjoy social and leisure activities that the rest of us take for granted. SoLO is a registered charity. They operate throughout Solihull from our offices based in Chelmsley Wood.
They support people with learning disabilities by providing a wide range of services.
They provide specialist leisure projects for those with more specific needs and organise activities that allow people with moderate learning disabilities have access to mainstream pursuits.
The peope that
they work with have a range of learning disabilities, from moderate to
severe.
Moderate learning disabilities are those which make life more of a challenge. People with moderate learning disabilities often simply need some support with transport or communication.
People with severe learning disabilities may be unable to undertake the basic tasks in life like walking, eating, personal hygiene and communicating verbally.
The Projects are held at a variety of venues across North and South Solihull and the times vary to suit the needs and availability.
Some projects offer transport in mini-buses, some provide transport in staff and volunteers cars.
