First of all.....thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

As you know, I have decided along with my best pal Sammy Kitcher to take on the HUUUGE task of running the London Marathon 2012!

Now to many of you, both close friends, family and team-mates of mine....the sheer thought of seeing me drag my a**e around the streets of London to the tune of 26.2 miles, will bring you close to tears of laughter! It's well noted, that when it comes to running of ANY sorts with or without a ball at my feet.....I am absolutely shockingly terrible nowadays and I make little excuse for my lack of effort.

In truth, part of the reason why i've agreed to give up my cosy winter nights indoors, watching TV and eating the naughtiest of foods is (in the nicest way possible) to stick two fingers up to the notion that i'm a lazy, unfit and slow g*t! By marathon time in fact, I fully envisage me running rings around my beloved team-mates and put pay to the weekly ridiculing I recieve on a Wednesday evening from them at training!!

Besides my longing for a healthier body, there is a much more sincere and heart-felt reason for taking up this great challenge. Many of you will know that in December 2010 my best mate's Dad, Lee Kitcher was diagnosed with both Prostate and Bone cancer. Needless to say, the news had a devastating effect on the family, but despite the recent turmoil in his life, Lee has remained true to himself and ''dusted it off'' as best possible. To most people, Lee looks fitter and healthier as ever and he leaves you with the same impression as he always does......a great man whose larger than life, and bloody funny!! He's a true inspiration to both me and Sam.

As a best mate to Sam, and friend to all the Kitcher's (the nutty clan that they are!!) I want to tackle this challenge head-on, with the same determination and gusto that Lee has shown over the past year and complete this challenge raising the most amount of money possible. The minimum target above (£2000), outlines purely what is expected from me by the charity, but in reality I want to raise much much more!!!

Back in September, The Prostate Cancer Research charity organised an Open Evening for all the marathon runners that they had selected to run for the charity. This was my first opportuntiy to see first-hand the amazing advances they are making with developing a cure for this dreadful disease. The problem is, that they still have so far to go and after talking to the scientists at the laboratory, it gives both me and Sam extra incentive to raise as much money as possible!

So come on.....dig deep and donate!!

Your generosity and support will be much needed over the coming months....and I will truly appreciate every single pound you're able to hand over.

Thanks

Adam x
