Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! As some of you will know, I am ascending the three highest peaks in the UK - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon on consecutive days from 17th September 2011.

The only thing which makes the pain of that experience (and the preparation for it!) worthwhile is the opportunity to raise some cash for a very worthy charity.

My partner Lexi's mother, Denise, has had Alzheimers for 8 years, and Lexi is actively involved in her care. I see for myself how stressful and upsetting the disease is for sufferer and carer alike. However, I also see how much more positive it is for both if third parties share insight and understanding of the disease, and provide events and occasional respite.

The charity I have chosen focusses equally on the sufferer and those who provide the direct, day-to-day support and care, many of whom are themselves elderly.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

I am very grateful for all your donations and they will give me an extra spring in my step along the three peaks!

Adam
