Story
In October 2014, I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world, to raise money for Headway Leicester. I will be joined by some of my colleagues from Welcomm Communications along with some of its customers to celebrate the company's 25th Anniversary.
We will be aiming to raise a minimum of £10,000 in total of which I am personally aiming to raise a minimum of £1,500.
Headway is a voluntary organisation which provides support and opportunities to brain injury victims. It is a very worthwhile cause and one close to my heart since my Mother suffered a stroke several years ago. It enables her and others to cope with their changed lives and aids rehabilitation to provide the best possible outcome moving forward. For more information on the charity, please see the link on the right.
It will be a challenging trek for all of us. We will be walking approximately 40 miles over 6 days to an altitude of 5896m. The day's climb to the summit will be a 15 hour hike and only 40% of people that attempt the climb actually make it to the summit. The more you donate the easier it will make it for us and knowing that it will be going to a great cause will spur us on to succeed.
Thank you in advance for all your generous donations which will be massively appreciated by myself and the charity.
