Cancer affects so many lives these days, including my own three years ago during my Grandmother's battle with the illness. Although she succumbed to cancer, there are many cases of people surviving cancer, including a couple of friends who are still here thanks to the quick response and effective treatments available.

My experiences as a nuclear physicist frequently overlap with research motivated by treatment of cancer such as radiotherepy and cancer imaging through various tomographic processes. Much of this science is still in its infancy and offers some promising methods of diagnosis and treatment of cancer in the future.

I hope to help contribute further to this research, and I hope you will be motivated to donate at the prospect of seeing me lose my hippy hair!
