Great Manchester Run 2016 · 22 May 2016 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am "running"...ahem..the Manchester 10K for MNDA.

Like me, you may not know very much about MND, so here's a quick run down:

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. There is currently no cure MND, but symptoms can be managed to help people achieve the best possible quality of life.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning. I'm just doing my little bit to help them find a cure.
