Story

Cancer sucksThere, we've said it. The cold, nasty hard truth is that all of us know someone affected by the evil disease. Statistically, it will affect 40% of humans on the planet during their lifetime. That's a lot of folk!!! I bet sitting there now you can all think of at least one person lost to cancer... I know I can! We were reminded again of the viscious disease with the loss of Anna Verrico, a young, fit mum of two. Reminded of how the disease doesn't carefully select its victims and that we are all vulnerable regardless of age, health or fitness.

So, in what may be considered a moment of madness, my little brother and I signed up for two crazy events this summer with the aim of raising a small amount of cash to support research into cures and to raise the awareness of other fundraising that is going on for Team Verrico.

As many of you may know we are both keen cyclists and so our first event is a 150 mile cycle from Seascales to Whitby.... in a day! Sore bottoms r us!

As if that wasn't mental enough we then signed up for Tough Mudder, a half marathon with obstacles such as ice pools and electric fences.... neither of us are what you would call runners :)

With all this in mind.... if youo can spare a few £ to make our insanity seem worthwhile we woould be very grateful.... and if you feel like popping to Whitby around 8pm on 28th June I'll be the one throwing my bike from the cliff !!!!
