Story
<div>We are 3 medical students out on our medical elective, we have just climbed Mount Kilimanjaro over the course of 6 days. It was a very taxing climb with adverse weather conditions but we managed to reach its peak (Uhuru peak) at 5895m of altitude at 9am on 01/02/2011.
Our climb was in aid of <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Doctors Worldwide (DWW)</span></strong></div>
<div></div>
<div>DWW is an NGO that has been running for just over ten years to bring medical aid to those without access to basic healthcare. Their projects span from Congo to Haiti encompassing urgent relief following natural disasters and conflicts to medical relief following infection outbreaks and epidemics.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The reason why we feel so passionate about DWW is because their projects also include reconstruction, education (of healthcare professionals) and rehabilitation with a vision of a stronger healthcare infrastructure, far beyond the provision of short term medical aid which most organisations provide. The most recent of these projects is that of in Pakistan after the floods, where DWW have particularly been working towards installing sustainable primary care facilities.<br /><br />In reality the climb is just an excuse to have some fun and round off our elective. All help and blessings are truly from God. The real issue for us is to ask for people to give from the heart, and to give to something we know will make a difference.</div>
<div>Please dig deep, and encourage family and friends to donate generously.</div>
