I have entered the biggest charity ride of my life!!!
In the Autumn my beautiful Orbea racing bike and I will be waving goodbye to the family and getting on a plane to Israel. We will be participating in the 12th Anniversary Wheels of Love International 5-day Charity Bike Ride which benefits the physically challenged children of the ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem. This year the Ride will commence from the Valley of Springs on November 6th - 10th and continue through northern Israel and conclude at the ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem with an emotional gathering with the children of ALYN. I will be riding for over 200 miles over the week, and over 1000 miles of training!
Each rider is committed to raising at least US $2,500, my secret hope is with all of you behind me we will get to £5000! The fund raising is critically important individualized rehabilitation care for the children of ALYN. I am, therefore, taking this opportunity to ask you for help so that we may help the children undergoing difficult treatment at the hospital. The ALYN Hospital is one of the world’s leading specialists in the active and intensive rehabilitation of children, regardless of their religion or ethnic origin, who are afflicted with a broad range of physical disabilities. The ultimate aim of ALYN is to rehabilitate the youngsters in its care and to return them to their families and to the community as quickly as possible having provided them with the skills to function as independently as possible, each child according to their limitations.
