Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Hello there!
My names Adrian and thanks for visiting my page!
By day I am a the Manager of our family run Tearoom, and by night I am a keen recreational Ice Hockey Player for the Sheffield Ice Tigers and the Squeelers.
In December, I have the privilege of playing a Charity ice hockey match to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Charity.
Why this charity match I hear you ask?
Well not only is it such a worthwhile and vital cause, but Sheffield Children’s Hospital is something that is so close to my heart.
My older brother Wayne was a regular patient at the Children’s Hospital. He was diagnosed with Leukaemia and sadly lost his fight aged just 10 years old. He received care and support from the Hospital from diagnosis and through this battle. This was the hardest time of my life. Yes I was only young but i remember how hard it was to see my bright and full of energy older brother deteriorate and become weak. I didn’t understand why he couldn’t play like he used to, and why he wasn’t wanting to get the box Lego out and build pirate ships with me or role play the Ghost Busters.
I had to attend many of the hospital appointments and have tests done myself to see if I had anything that may prolong or even save his life - cure him I suppose. I remember how kind the Hospital staff were, and how they tried to make you feel as comfortable as possible - they even let me play on the Sega Megadrive!
Without determined fundraisers and the kind hearted general public donating money, the Hospital would be unable to provide the service and give the resources it strives to provide.
With that said I ask whether you are able to donate towards this fantastic cause - there’s no minimum amount and anything you can give will be more than appreciated.
We would also love to see you at the game! Monday 18th December at 7pm - Ice Sheffield!
Thank you so much !
