My story
July signals the start of some serious training for Great North Run 2012. This year I aim to get a time of 1hr 50mins.
I'm running for a charity this year, Marie Curie Cancer Care. In particular I'm running for the nurses and carers that work in hospices and home visits. During the last few months of my Dad's life the Marie Curie nurses were a really kind and caring team. They helped out my mum lots, visiting throughout the day, keeping her company and looking after my dad.

Thank you so much to everybody who donated. I finished the run injury free, happy with a new PB of 1:55:55
Since July I've ran 120km in training. I would of done more but unfortunately had to have two weeks off due to an ankle injury.
After 2 weeks off with sore ankle I finally got back into training this week. Spurred on by the Olympics I've been getting up earlier jogging in the mornings. I did a total of 24k this week, with a longer run on the Saturday. Thank again to all those that have donated :-)
Did the bridges of the Tyne race yesterday, 5mile race. Completed in 39.13. Had issues with low blood sugar at start and ankle pain near the end, will be better prepared next time :-)
