Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are grateful for all donations and hope you are able to make the Afternoon Tea For Brain Tumour UK event on 24 March 2012.

Why charities like Brain Tumour UK mean so much to us:

When we were just 12 and 15 years old, our dad was diagnosed with a grade 4 malignant brain tumour. He was strong and put up the best fight possible but 16 months after his diagnosis, our dad died. 4 years later, we were studying at college and university when our mum was diagnosed with secondary cancer in her brain. Without our dad, we were primary carers for our mum. She too showed amazing strength but could not defeat the illness and died 7 months later.

Now, we are able to say the experience made us stronger and drove us to succeed in life but we will never forget the how valiantly our parents battled against their illness and for that reason, charities like Brain Tumour UK, which provide support for those suffering as well as their carers, which raise awareness of the disease and which raise money to continue researching methods to improve the quality of life of sufferers and hopefully one day to find a cure, are very close to our hearts.

Our Afternoon Tea For Brain Tumour UK will raise funds to support the charity but for those who cannot attend the event, we hope you feel able to donate to the cause.

Thank you and best wishes,
