3 Peaks Challenge with Informa · 22 May 2015

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

The 3 Peaks Challenge is an organized event requiring huge amounts of training and dedication, requiring participants to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales all within 24 hours!!.

Total Distance is estimated at 42km/26 miles with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3000 m).

  • Ben Nevis – Scotland, 4,409ft (1,344m)

  • Scaffell Pike – England, 3,209ft (978m)

  • Snowdon – Wales, 3,560ft (1,085m)

In May 2015, I will be participating in this grueling climb to raise money for vulnerable young people via The Prince’s Trust. Why? To put it simply I want to help young people who have had a rough start to life and better the opportunities they are exposed to in the future.

“The Trust's vital program’s give young people the emotional support they desperately need, as well as the practical tools and confidence to transform their future. Whether providing basic skills like personal hygiene, budgeting or cooking, or giving valuable experience in industry, they provide young people with the essentials they need to get back into education, or find their first job. Quite simply they are the turning point for these young people, changing their lives”.

Essentially I want to give back to those who haven’t been as fortunate as myself in starting their lives.

Although times are hard financially for the majority; donations could radically change the lives of many young people so a small financial sacrifice would result in huge changes and getting these people the help they need.

My sacrifice for the cause will be huge amounts of time, effort and physical pain so any help would be greatly appreciated towards this great cause.
