Rwanda Restored seeks the advancement of education of young people in Rwanda by building or improving schools, relieving financial hardship by providing money for food, housing, education, clothes and social support for widows and orphans across Rwanda.

Story

Hi all,

As I'm sure most of you know, I'm hoping to spend two months in Rwanda next summer (2011) as part of my degree in International Development. The trip will include working with widows and orphans (victims of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994), helping in primary and secondary schools run by the charity, and visiting the handicrafts centre set up to give people a means to earn a living. You can find out more about the charity's work at http://www.rwandarestored.org/about/index.html - please take a look to find out more.

The £2,500 target includes a £1,000 donation to the charity, which I need to raise in order for them to let me on the trip, as well as an estimated £1,500 needed for vaccinations, food, travel and accomodation. Any little you can spare would really help - it's not just for me, but for the people I hope to be working with.

Thank you!

Aimée :)

{Edit 16/01/2011: My dad has contributed the money for my flights, meaning more of the money you donate here will go to the charity, so please give as much as you can afford! Thank you!}

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
