Cambodia Community Challenge · 6 October 2018

We're raising funds to help older and younger people gain confidence in the future, whatever challenges they face today.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been fortunate enough to be selected to go as part of a team to help build a much needed school in Cambodia this October. We will be working and staying within the Knapor community.

Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in Southeast Asia. Access to education in rural areas is a major impediment to the country realising its' development goals. The shortage of schools does not only affect the quality of education but also impacts healthcare, the economy and community development. Our hope is to give education in the area a much needed boost.

The good news is that Santander have been kind enough to cover the costs of the trip (flights etc.). However, I will be working with Santander's charity partners, Age UK and Barnardo's with the target of raising at least £2000 (which if I achieve Santander will match to £4000!). Every penny of this money will help transform the lives of both older and younger people all across the UK.

As I'm sure you are aware, I am not your typical builder. I have been privileged to have a great education and secure home life. I feel any amount of help I can give that can make a small difference in someone's life, is more than worthwhile. I'm sure the trip will be challenging, but I know the benefit it can make to the 432 students (and counting) will make it extremely rewarding.

If all that wasn't enough to persuade you to donate, think of me doing a week of hard graft!

Any donations no matter how large or small will help me get closer to my £2000 target and give me the support and motivation needed to complete this challenge!
