Not many people know this about me...but I spent many years living in various foster homes as a youngster. I was always blessed enough to feel safe and cared for, but I met many young people who were not so fortunate.

I remember one girl who came to stay with us at the last home. She had been living rough for weeks - she was 15 yrs! The heartbreaking reality is that she felt safer on the streets than in her own home. She didn't stay with us long and I didn't keep in touch with her (there was no facebook back then and I was only 15 myself) but I think about her often. Actually I think about her more than often, I think about her a lot.

I'm 'sleeping out' on 27th March 2014 and the money raised will be distributed to charitable organisations that:-

* address the hidden causes of homelessness by supporting those most at risk.

* help people progress from homelessness to a more secure and positive future.

* support people who are currently homeless and those faced with severe hardship.

I know sleeping out for one night does not compare to what others have to experience but I want to help in some small way. I would be extremely grateful for any donation...no matter how small.
