For many years now Yemen has been suffering with so much hardship from lack of the basics of food and water to rising fuel prices causing so much distress to so many. It is one of the poorest countries in the Arab world with extreme water scarcity and soaring food prices. By building a deep water well in Yemen it will help prevent women from risking their lives on dangerous journeys and also to help prevent the contraction of water bourne disease.

As we are well aware there are so many of our Ummah facing such severe hardship all over the world but, it seems to me that Yemen is the forgotten nation. I myself Googled poverty in Yemen to see which Muslim charities are out there and much to my surprise, apart from one Muslim charity, every other page was from non Muslim organisations Subhan'Allah. We really need to raise the awareness of the Yemenies within our own communities and strive to raise as much aid as possible  to help them fi sabil Illah.

Whilst we are so happy with our material lives and on the odd occasion give aid to the latest atrocity this is no where near enough.

Change needs to happen fast, before we are questioned about what we did to help those who were suffering all over the world, not just in the highlighted countries.

Alhamdulillah we have, in the last couple of months raised over £4000 for various needy projects. Maybe because part of it was Ramadhan, only Allah knows. But these countries have been in dire need for many years. Their need is not just in Ramadahn because we want to earn extra reward, it's 365 days a year.
