Story

After spending most of last year sitting on the couch with my busted ankle I'm up for a challenge. So I'm going to Trek to Everest Base Camp and to the summit of Kala Patar (5,600m) this November.

I will be paying for the cost of trek myself so all donations will go directly to the charity, Children in Crossfire.

In preparation for the Trek I plan on doing a series of challenges to get me up to speed. Here's the list so far:

3rd March  - Parkrun 5k - cus I have to start somewhere

25th March - Off Road Duathlon  - 2.5k run / 19k mtn bike / 2.5k run

8th April - Gravity Enduro - 25k mtn biking with downhill stages

15th April - Mud Madness - 4.5miles of muddy obstacles

21/22 April - Mountain Bike Challenge - 80k of mountain biking

1st July - Gravity Enduro 3 - more downhill mountain biking

14th July - Tough Mudder - 10-12 miles of pain

26th August - Lap the Lough - 140k bike ride around Lough Neagh

15th September - Causeway Coast Sportive - 182k bike ride

November - Dublin Marathon - TBC

End November - Everest Base Camp

I would really appreciate any support you can offer.

Many thanks,

Alan.
