Alain Stubbs will be running the Original Mountain Marathon on 30th/31st October 2010 in aid of Help for Heroes. Born in the Republic of Congo in 1965, Alain has always had a keen interest in outdoor pursuits. As a teenager he completed the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award and joined the Royal Green Jackets aged 20, eventually completing 22 years service. While in the army he was the orienteering officer and led many trips, notably the Trudos Mountains in Cyprus and the Rocky mountains of Alberta in Canada. Other expeditions include South Georgia (near the Falkland Isles), the Jordon desert, Morocco's Atlas Mountains. His most challenging expedition to date was in South Georgia, which involved a culmination of navigational exercises through glaciers and survival training. In the UK he has competed in the Three Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon) and the North Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to help raise money for Help for Heroes. If you would like to help Alain please follow the instructions listed below…
