Story
In his 'moment of madness', Van Gogh chose to cut off his ear!
In my moment, I chose to enter the 'National Three Peaks Challenge' organised by my employer, Dimension Data.
The National Three Peaks Challenge for those who do not know, "is the UK's most popular mountain challenge. It involves climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345 metres), Scafell Pike in England (978 metres) and Snowdon in Wales (1085 metres), usually within 24 hours"
My employer has allowed me to choose my own charity (Thank You!) and I have chosen 'Christians Against Poverty' (CAP).
Why?
Hard to believe, but in our modern society there are thousands of families who are desperately poor. Unable to feed their children, incapable of paying to heat their homes in winter, they are being held hostage to debt and poverty.
CAP works tirelessly to release families from this debt and poverty and. more importantly, from their causes.
CAP never charge for their services as they believe everybody deserves the same chance to get out of the poverty trap. Their funding comes from the thousands of individuals and churches that care about our society.
And with my efforts and your donations, we too can make a difference to someone's life.
Thanks
Alan
