Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a lucky man. I have a beautiful family in good health and a fantastic life. In recent years my mum has had cancer and two very close friends have had their lives turned upside down when one of them was diagnosed with MS.

It makes you realise how lucky you are and I wanted to help and was introduced to cycling by two very good mates and its been a revelation!!

I have refained from publishing any photos of us in lycra for fear of causing offence but on 29 September, i and 7 other substantial individuls will attempt to get into our lycra shorts and participate in the Irish Challenge 2010 , a 500 mile charity bike ride around Ireland. We have two teams of four and the Challenge is to cycle over 500 miles in 3 days from Blarney Castle in south west Ireland to Dublin.

100% of the sponsorship raised will be passed on to the nominated charities which are the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Reaserch UK

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Further information about the event can be found on the organisers website

So please sponsor me now - if you dont photos of me in lycra will follow!!

Many thanks for your support

Alan
