Story
Katie and Emma Sutcliffe are 15 year old twins who have Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy. National charity, Caudwell Children, is supporting Katie and Emma and other children and young people like them by raising money to fund ground breaking treatments and physiotherapy which can help children with Cerebral Palsy walk independently for the first time.
The treatment is called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) and has a 100% success rate from the St Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri. The aim is to raise £85,000 to help send the twins to the St Louis Children’s Hospital for the SDR operation and to pay for up to two years of specialist physiotherapy for Katie and Emma.
As a lifelong sufferer of Cerebral Palsy myself, I am now hoping to contribute to the fundraising efforts by completing the annual Lancaster and Morecambe AC 4K Christmas Fun Run on Thursday 27th December. Please sponsor me to raise funds for The Twins Appeal and give Katie and Emma the opportunity to receive this life-changing treatment.
