After 20 years of renal dialysis, my Mum sadly passed away in  March 2010. I also suffer from Kidney disease as does my 14 year old son, thankfully our conditions can be treated with tablets at this stage. My Sister however, has not been so lucky, her kidneys have failed completely and she is currently undergoing dialysis treatment three times a week. With your help, maybe this treatment, for her and others like her, can be made a little more comfortable.

I am running the marathon in memory of my Mum, Ivy Halmshaw, if she was able to suffer 20 years of pain and discomfort, I'm sure I can manage 26 miles around London. (Just over one mile per year of suffering). I'm aiming for 5 hours, anything quicker than that and I will be amazed.

Please give as generously as you can, every penny is going towards making future treatment more tollerable for patients.
