Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Firstly, a big thanks to all those who have kindly supported this fundraising for Unicef.
I am about to re-board the Clipper 70, Punta del Este racing 5,500nm against ten other identical yachts from Cape Town in South Africa, across Southern Ocean, to Freemantle in Western Australia. This is Leg 3 of the Clipper 2019-20 Round the World Race, and will take about three and half weeks.
Although the race start took place on 17th November, our own start has been delayed by about ten days due to repairs needed after a collision shortly after the start. Fortunately, no-one was seriously injured, and the Punta team is looking forward to cracking on with the race next week.
Our charity partner for the race is Unicef UK and as Team Punta del Este, we have set ourselves a target to raise more than £33,000 in support of Unicef. This is a fantastic charity that makes a tremendous contribution to improving the lives of vulnerable children around the world.
It would be really appreciated if you can spare a few quid for this great cause.
Many thanks
Al
